The Sado Estuary has a stable population of Bottlenose Dolphins with about 30 animals.
Often seen in the waters of the Costa Azul, between Cabo Espichel and Setúbal, a place with great biodiversity and rich in food for dolphins such as cuttlefish and octopus.
In summer the Bottlenose Dolphins spend more time outside the Sado Estuary, where they sometimes meet other groups of Coastal Bottlenose Dolphins and wild Dolphins.
